Anita L. McCollum, 69, of rural Little York, IL, died 2:00 P.M. Thursday, June 27, 2013 at her home
She was born September 24, 1943, in Rock Island, Illinois, the daughter of William K. and Myrtle (Borst) Reuter. She was raised and educated in Rock Island, where she graduated from Rock Island High School in 1961,
Anita married Jack E. McCollum at Rock Island on November 18, 1961 and he survives.
She was a homemaker and had worked at various employments during her working years. She enjoyed quilting and sewing.
Her family includes her husband Jack, five children, Jessica L. McCollum of Caldwell, Texas, Claire (John) Barnhouse of Alexis, Amy (Bryant) Melton of Aledo, Beth Ann McCollum of Milan and Danielle McCollum of E. Moline, 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and one sister, Betty (James) Nesseler of Rock Island, along with nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Cremation has been accorded. Interment of her ashes will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island, Illinois. No visitation or services are planned.
