Barbara J (Rice) Hull

Barbara J. (Rice) Hull, 89, of Galesburg, passed away at 12:13 p.m., Sunday, December 31, 2023 in the Knox County Nursing Home, Knoxville, Illinois. Barbara was born May 25, 1934 in Canton, Illinois, the daughter of Don and Irene (Way) Rice. She was raised and educated in the London Mills area.

She worked as an inspector for Maytag for 30 years until her retirement. She loved to crochet, gardening, ceramics, word searches and baking for her family. She was very independent and hardworking. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

Those left to cherish her memory are; son, Dennis (Susan) Melvin of London Mills, IL; daughters, Sandra Ulm of Knoxville, IL, Debora James of Abingdon, IL, Sheila Logan of Michigan, Sherri Hulick of Galesburg, IL, Terri (David) Dickerson of Abingdon, IL; 11 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; siblings, Davie (Linda) Rice and Elaine (David) Baker. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Cremation rites have been accorded with no services scheduled at this time. Interment will be in the West Midway Cemetery, London Mills, at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the John Mosser Public Library in Abingdon and left in the care of the funeral home.
