Bernard F. Smith

It is with great sorrow that the family of Bernard F. Smith (78 years old) announces his passing on Saturday, October 31, 2020, at 4:00 a.m. at the Elms Nursing Home in Macomb, IL. Bernard was born in Galesburg, IL, on Thursday, September 24, 1942, to Woodrow S. and Mary E. (Thompson) Smith.

He is survived by two daughters: Sonya Smith of Knoxville, Debbie Myers of Macomb, 6 beautiful grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Mike Smith.

Bernard proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserves and worked as a carpenter for many years after. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved spending time both hunting and fishing. Bernard pursued animals of all kinds from turkey to geese to dove and coyotes. Over his many years spent in the outdoors, he developed a special affinity and expertise for hunting whitetail deer and Busch Light. He will be missed dearly by many.
