Betty Annette (Burton) Myers

Betty Annette Myers, 88, of Roseville, IL passed away Monday, January 14, 2019, at her home.  She was born Thursday, March 6, 1930 in Galesburg, IL, the daughter of Florence and Louis Burton.  She married Donald L. Myers on August 24, 1958, in Galesburg, IL. He preceded her in death on February 22, 2008.

Betty is survived by two daughters, Marj (Greg) Matheny of Heartland, Wis. and Linda (Brian) Sears of Roseville, IL; one son, Bob (Crystal) Myers of Jacksonville, IL; daughter-in-law Christine Myers-Thompson of Gurnee, IL; 10 grandchildren, Brett, Jennifer, Jared, Samantha (Garrett), Shannon, Monica, Ashlyn, Ragen, Carrigan, and Carlin; three step grandchildren, Christopher, Jason (Mandy) and Samantha (Cody); 4 step great grandchildren, Sadie, Brandt, Evelyn, and Addison.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son (Gregory K. Myers), sister (Marge (John) Voelken), brother (Wayne (Sally) Burton).

Betty graduated Princeville High School in 1948.  She then attended Galesburg Cottage Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1951, she then attended specialization post graduate and received a degree in obstetrics and nursery care in Boston.  She was registered nurse and worked in many physicians’ offices.  She worked at McDonough District Hospital in obstetrics and lastly at Lamoine Christian Nursing Home in Roseville, IL.  She loved to sew, quilt, and cross stitch.  She loved babies and her grandchildren.  She was a member of the Roseville United Methodist Church.

Funeral service will be Sunday, January 20, 2019, 2:00 p.m. at the Wise Family Funeral Home Roseville, IL. Visitation will be from 1:00 until the hour of service.  Burial will be in the Roseville Memorial Park Cemetery Roseville, IL.  Memorials may be made to the Roseville United Methodist Church and or the OSF Home Hospice.  Please sign the online guest book at www.wisefamilyfuneralhome.com.  Wise family Funeral Home Roseville, IL is in charge of the arrangements.
