Betty Ann Seward, 76, of Monmouth, died in Warren County Tuesday afternoon, April 2, 2013 as a result of an automobile accident.
Betty was born on July 21, 1936 in Quincy, IL, the daughter of William and Violet Stenrose. She was raised and educated in Quincy and graduated valedictorian of her class from Quincy High School in 1954. She then went on to graduate from Western Illinois University in 1958 with a B.S. in education.
Betty married Charles S. Seward on May 29, 1958 in Pekin, IL and he survives.
She taught at Warren High School for 32 years, first teaching art then English. Betty enjoyed making quilts by hand, cross-stitching, and loved her animals.
Her family includes her husband Charlie and her daughter, Alisa Bycroft both of Monmouth.
She was preceded by her parents, an uncle, and her grandmother.
Funeral services will be 1:30 P.M. Monday, April 8, 2013 at Hoover Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth with Rev. Jim Epperson. Entombment will follow at the Warren County Memorial Park Mausoleum. Friends may call after noon on Sunday at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth where her family will be present from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M.
