Carilee Newman

Carilee Newman 92, of Avon, IL passed away Wednesday December 28, 2016, 9:48 a.m. at the Care Center of Abingdon Abingdon, IL. She was born August 7, 1924 in MO the daughter of Artie and Lottie Phelps. She married John Newman on June 8, 1946 he preceded her in 1994.

Those left to cherish her memory are daughter Linda (Mike) Thomson of Fairview, IL; grandchildren Aaron (Linda) Endres of Hannah City, IL and Amy (Scott) Howard of Mainville, Ohio; great grandchildren Brook (Dewayne) Bone, Brayden Howard and Adalyn Howard; great great grandchildren Micah Bone and Selah Bone; siblings Alva (Betty) Phelps of Galesburg, IL and Max (Nancy) Phelps of Avon, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings (James Phelps, Elzie Phelps, Evelyn Autin, and Betty Lou Phelps).

She attended the Avon Federated Church, where she quilted. She was a cook at the Ellisville School.

Graveside service will be Saturday December 31, 2016 10:30 a.m. at the Avon Cemetery, Avon, IL. Memorials may be made to the Care Center of Abingdon Activity Fund.
