Carol M. Roth

Carol M Roth, 70, of Alexis died at 7:05 A.M. Thursday, May 24, 2012 at her home.

She was born September 3, 1941 in La Harpe, Illinois the daughter of Jeff and Rosa (Thompson) Brewer. She was raised and educated in rural Carthage, IL, graduating from Carthage High School in 1959 and later attending Western Illinois University.

Carol married J. Richard Roth in rural Carthage on Nov. 24, 1962 and he survives.

She had worked as a secretary. She loved flowers and gardening and had worked at local flower shops. She enjoyed collecting angels.

She was a member of the Alexis United Presbyterian Church, Kelly Patches and the Pans Home Extension Unit.

Survivors include her husband, Dick Roth of
Alexis; children, Michael Richard Roth of Alexis, Debra Sue (Crescent) Burke of Springfield, Il., James Scott (Amy) Roth of Galesburg and Julie Dawn (Pat) Hessler of Orion, IL; 9 grandchildren, Michael Andrew Roth, of Eldridge, IA., Aaron Dean Roth of Knoxville, IL., Evan James Burke, Kara Irene Burke, Ella Katherine Burke all of Springfield, IL; Henry James Roth and Waylon Mitchell Roth of Galesburg, Sadie Carol Hessler and Maxwell Curtis Hessler of Orion, IL.; sister, Clarene (Mike) Arnold of Clinton, IL; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Jim Brewer and an infant brother.

Funeral services will be 10;00 A.M. Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at the Alexis United Presbyterian Church with Pastor Steve Rhodes officiating. Burial will be in Candor Cemetery. Friends may call Monday, May 28, 2011 after 1:00 P.M. at the Alexis United Presbyterian Church where the family will be present from 2:00-4:00 P.M. Memorials may be given to the Alexis Evangelical Presbyterian Church or the American Cancer Society. Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Alexis is in charge of the arrangements.
