Carol S (Lytle) Sargeant

On December 2, 2023, Carol Sue (Lytle) Sargeant passed away peacefully at the age of 83, surrounded by family.

Carol is survived by her sister, Ruth Poulson, her daughters, Tracy Felgar Roberts (Mike McCoy) and Pam (Tony) Coupland, her sons, David (Ethel) Felgar, Larry (Gina) Felgar, and Robert Kepple (son-in-law), 12 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, six siblings, one daughter, Tammy (Robert) Kepple, two grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

As the matriarch and strength of her family, Carol will be dearly missed. Born in Wataga, IL, Carol lived most of her adult life in Avon, IL, where she was a lifelong caregiver, working at the Avon Nursing Home and helping individuals in their homes.

A beloved member of the Avon community, Carol is remembered as a good friend with a joy for life and a great sense of humor. She loved playing pranks on family members and always made people laugh. She will also be remembered as the person who called in numerous birthdays to FM95 each year, trying to win everyone an ice cream cake. Friends and family members recall she was very special and always kind. Even in difficult and painful times, Carol was an example of perseverance and resilience. And through our tears, we will remember her with a smile until we meet again.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 8, 2023, at the Avon Federated Church.  A time of visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, December 7, 2023, at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to aid with funeral expenses. Moore Memorial Home, Avon, is handling the arrangements.
