Carroll L. Hippen, 81, of Roseville, IL. passed away Thursday, June 4, 2020, 4:00 a.m. at the Elms Nursing Home Macomb, IL. He was born Wednesday, November 2, 1938, in Monmouth, IL the son of John and Iris R. (Dunbar) Hippen. He married Margaret Hopkins on April 22, 1961, at St. John’s Catholic Church, Quincy, IL.
Carroll is survived by his wife of 59 years Margaret; two sons, Brice Hippen of Little York and Brett Hippen of Monmouth; two brothers, Larry Hippen of Monmouth, and Chet Hippen of Kirkwood; four grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and 1 brother (Wendell Hippen).
Carroll graduated from Monmouth High School in 1956. He enlisted into the National Guard on February 4, 1960 and was honorably Discharged on February 3, 1963. He could make anything out of wood. He loved driving a tractor and helping his brothers farm. Carroll did beautiful scrollsaw work. He was a member of the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church Raritan, IL. He was also a member of the NRA.
Due to social distancing limitations related to the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be no visitation. A private family graveside service will be in the Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery Monmouth, IL.
