Charles W Sloan

Charles W. Sloan, 80, of Avon, Illinois, passed away at 8:44 p.m. Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at his residence. He was born June 16, 1943 in Avon, the son of James and Lettie (Howard) Sloan. He was raised and educated in Avon, graduating from Avon High School.

He enlisted with the United States Army from 1963-1965. He later attended Carl Sandburg College. He worked for OMC in Galesburg for 16 years.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jimmy and Steven.

Those left to cherish his memory are brother, Roger Sloan; sisters; Barb Bogeart of Macomb, Martha (Dan) Lindsey of Abingdon. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Cremation rites have been accorded with no services planned. A private family interment will take place in the Avon Cemetery.
