Charles Keith Wagy

Charles Keith Wagy, 82, of Avon, IL passed away Friday June 17, 2016, at his home. He was born September 6, 1933 in Liberty, IL the son of Charles and Idella (Ryan) Wagy. He married Rosalie Bivens on October 26, 1951 in Galesburg, IL.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of Avon, IL, four children Karey (Jerry) Shultz of London Mills, IL, Sherry (Gary) Knapp of Avon, IL, Kevin Wagy of Avon, IL, and Darla Wagy of Macomb, IL; 12 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren; two brothers Russell (Mardell) Wagy of Macomb, IL, Robert (Peg) Wagy of Whytheville, VA; one sister Marlene Mills of Galesburg, IL. He was preceded in death by hid parents, 2 sisters, and 1 brother.

Keith was raised and educated in Avon, IL and graduated Avon High School. He worked for Central Illinois CHIPS as coordinator, as well as Dock manager and Highway Driver for BN Transport for 37 years. He was a driver for Admirals for 8 years. He was a proud Union Member and Democrat. He owned the Town Tavern for 10 years. He was a member of the Avon United Methodist Church, Avon Business Association, Teamster Union Steward, the Avon Masonic Lodge, and Shrine. He was also a part of the Illinois Central Council on aging, the Avon Village Board, FCRC Board, and the FC Rural Transportation Board. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal, and St Louis Rams fan.

There will be Masonic services Thursday June 23, 2016, 11:00 a.m. with a visitation one hour prior. at the Avon United Methodist Church, Avon, IL. Burial will be in the Avon Cemetery, Avon, IL.
