Charlotte L. Carlson, 89, of Alexis, IL, died 6:53 A.M. Saturday, May 26, 2012, at St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg.
She was born October 19, 1922 in Fulton County, the daughter of Frank and Dorothy (Ford) Cozadd. She was raised and educated in the London Mills area.
Charlotte married John Carlson on October 7, 1977 at Alexis, IL and he survives.
She had worked at Farm King and assisted her husband in the farming operation. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and canning.
She was a member of the Ladies Home Bureau.
Her family includes her husband, John of Alexis, two children Dottie (Wayne Tabb) Weathers of Galesburg and Dennis (Alice) Parker of Maquon, IL, one step-daughter, Stephanie Nagle of Rennsauler, IN, two step-sons, William (Marty) Carlson of Moline and Stanley (Diane) Carlson of Alexis, grandchildren, Steve Parker, Stephanie Knox, Stacey Dikeman, Amy Weathers, Debra Weathers, William Q. Carlson, John Robert Carlson, Matthew Carlson and Kim Nagle, Eric Nagle and Janelle Nagle, and 5 great grandchildren, one sister, Elaine Smith of Texas and two brothers, Robert (Margaret) Cozadd of Gilson and Harold (Barb) Cozadd of Knoxville along with nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law, Mike Weathers, sister, Helen Varnell, two brothers, Paul Cozadd and Chester Cozadd and two step-grandchildren..
Graveside services and burial will be 10:30 A.M. Thursday, May 31, 2012 in Alexis Cemetery with Pastor David Dutton of the Little Cedar Presbyterian Church, Little York. Friends may call on Thursday morning at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Alexis where visitation with her family will be one hour prior to the graveside service. Memorials may be left for Norwood Presbyterian Church or St. Judes Children Hospital. Online condolences may be left at www.hooverhall.com.
