Charlotte H. (Underwood) Downin

Charlotte H. Downin, 87, of Berwick, IL passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2019, 7:20 p.m. at the Monmouth Nursing Home Monmouth, IL.  She was born in Berwick Twp. on Friday, May 27, 1932, the daughter of Frank and Clara (Lewis) Underwood.  She married Edwin P.D. Downin on April 25, 1952, at the London Mills United Methodist Church, he preceded her in death on February 23, 1986.

Charlotte is survived by children, David (Judy (Brooks)) Downin of Roseville, Chuck (Maria) Downin of Cedar Rapids, Julie (Rob) Derry of Monmouth, one daughter-in-law, Sheila Downin of Table Grove; 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; one brother Francis (June) Underwood of Dayton, OH.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 son (Bill), 1 infant brother (Robert Underwood), 1 brother (Chester), 2 grandsons, 1 special friend (Dewey Trone).

Charlotte belonged to the Alexis Quilt Guild.  She sewed and knitted and was also an excellent baker and cook.  She was well known for her cinnamon rolls.  She was a member of the Central Congregational in Galesburg. She loved to travel and dance. She loved her dogs and horses.

Funeral service will be Monday, July 22, 2019, 10:00 a.m. at the Wise family Funeral Home Roseville, IL. Visitation will be Sunday, July 21, 2019, from 2-4 p.m. at the funeral Home.  Burial will be in the Roseville Memorial Park Cemetery, Roseville, IL.  Memorials may be made to the Harbor Light Hospice, and /or Monmouth Nursing Home.  Please sign the online guestbook at www.wisefamilyfuneralhome.com.  Wise Family Funeral Home Roseville is in charge of the arrangements.
