Clyde W. Kneen, 92, of Roseville IL, passed away at 8:40 pm, Sunday September 5, 2021, at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg, IL. He was born April 25, 1929, to John and Daisy Kneen, of Monmouth, IL. Clyde was married July 30, 1952, to Carol L. Corzatt, who preceded him in death on October 30, 1990. He married Marian L. Adkins on December 3, 1998, and she preceded him in death on October 21, 2013. He was also preceded in death by his parents and infant brother John and brother Howard.

Clyde is survived by his daughters: Lila (Mel) Jenkins, Krista (Johnny) Vanskike, Sharla (Tandy) Hawkins, and Karita (Dan Dowell) Hines. His grandchildren: Lydia (John) Lapierre, Wyatt (Christina) Jenkins, Rana (Garret) Coleman, Tiara Jenkins, Jonathan (Wendi King) Vanskike, Brie (Joe) Cook, Clayton Hawkins, Devin (Kristin) Vanskike, Jesse (Miranda) Hines, Daysi (Zachary) McIntire, Teal (Adam Kragskow) Jenkins, Mindi Hawkins, Brock (Anna Stoyeff) Jenkins, Lorna Jenkins, Benjamin Jenkins, and Kolt Malone. His great-grandchildren: Madelynn, Zachary, Macey, and Maya Jenkins, Gunner and Ryker Cook, Cale and Ruby Coleman, Amera Vanskike, Huntlee Vanskike, Hudson Hines, Greyson Seward and two great-grandchildren on the way.

Clyde attended school at Coonville grade school and graduated from Kirkwood High School in 1947, where he lettered in basketball, track, and fast-pitch softball. He joined the Illinois National Guard and later served as a dispatcher for nine months in the United States Army during the Korean War.

A lifelong farmer, Clyde was very active in the First Christian Church, Monmouth, IL, serving sixty-four years as an elder. Clyde was vice-president of the Warren County Farm Bureau, board member of Warren County Agriculture Extension Council. He was also a 4-H Warren County livestock judge for one year, and a 4-H assistant leader in Warren County. He was a board member of LaMoine Christian Nursing Home, president of the board of LaMoine Christian Service Camp, past president of Warren-Henderson Angus Association, and excelled in his hobbies of bowling and horseshoe pitching. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. Raising Angus cattle and Toy Fox Terrier dogs were a big part of his life. He enjoyed telling jokes.

Clyde’s Christian faith was very important to him. He was a role model to his family and many others throughout his lifetime. Most of all, he loved his family and the precious time spent with them.

Visitation will be held on Thursday September 9, from 5-7 pm at Wise Family Funeral Home in Roseville. Funeral Service will be held on Friday September 10, at 10:00 am at the First Christian Church of Monmouth.  Burial will be in the Roseville Township cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church and LaMoine Christian Service Camp.
