Danny R. Watkins

Danny R. Watkins 68, of Bowen, passed away on March 2, 2022, at 3:02 pm in OSF St. Francis in Peoria. He was born on August 20, 1953, the son of Kenneth and Faye (Davis) Watkins in Carthage IL. He married Barbara Akins in August of 1974, she preceded him death on October 14, 2018.

He is survived by three sons Christopher (Sonya) Watkins, Michael (Kimberly) Watkins, and Brian (Vernon) Watkins, grandchildren; Zachary, Leigha, Miya, Aden, Kylie, Amber, Joey, Jaxen, Owen, and Hunter; 5 great-grandchildren; and his siblings Kenneth Watkins Jr., Linda Walker, Ronald Watkins, John Watkins, and his best friend David Walker.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, 1 sister Kathryn Wise, 2 brothers Claude Watkins, and Russell Watkins.

He loved spending time with his wife. They loved to fish together. He loved to work on cars, he truly enjoyed classic cars. They loved his grandchildren very much. He was a man of few words... until he was around cars.

Funeral Service will be held on Monday March 7, 2022, at 11:00 am at the Wise Family Funeral Home in Roseville. Visitation will be held on Sunday March 6, 2022, from 2-4pm at the Wise Family Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Danny Watkins Memorial Fund.
