Darla J. (Boyd) Sackfield

Darla J. Sackfield 67, of Avon passed away on November 20, 2021, at 8:07 pm in her home. She was born on December 18, 1953, in Avon IL, the daughter of Vincil “Toot” and Shirley “Jo-Ann” (Stambach) Boyd. She married James Sackfield on September 17, 1972.

Darla is survived by her husband, Jim of Avon, children; Debbie Robinson of Canton, Ryan (Ranee) Sackfield of Lohrville IA, Jennie (Corey) Stenger of Avon. grandchildren; Hannah (Mark) Donsbach and Anastasia, Isabella, Cecilia Sackfield, and Reece, Carson, Corbin Stenger. One great-grandson Sawyer, Her Siblings Tom (Penny) Boyd of Avon, Mandy (Mike) Fowler of Avon, John “Fester” Boyd of Avon.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and one grandson Nick

Darla graduated from Avon High School in 1972. She lived in many places while Jim was in the Navy, living in San Diego, Bremerton WA, and Chicago. She was a cook for 30 years in the Avon School District. Darla loved to cook and was excellent at it. She enjoyed helping the grandchildren with their cakes for the Avon Fat Steer Show. She enjoyed attending the sporting events and school functions for her grandchildren. She always looked forward to their annual Fourth of July Party with major Fireworks.

Graveside service will be held on Wednesday November 24, 2021, at 11:30 am at Olive Holeman Cemetery. A visitation will be held prior to the Graveside at the Wise Family Funeral Home in Avon from 9:00-11:00 am. Memorials may be made to the Avon Public Library.
