David Edward McIntyre, "The Captain" 76, of Roseville, IL passed away Wednesday, August 1, 2018,

at OSF St. Francis Medical Center Peoria, IL.  He was born Sunday, September 21, 1941 in Little York, IL the son of Russell Howard and Marie Elizabeth (Cook) McIntyre.  He married Ann F. McKeown in the Monmouth Christian Church on February 21, 1970.

He is survived by his wife Ann of Roseville, IL; daughters: Angela McIntyre (Clark Stull), and Samantha McIntyre both of Roseville, IL; son: David Gale (Lori) McIntyre of Roseville, IL; 3 grandchildren Sean (Carrie) McIntyre,Daniel (Danielle) McIntyre and Ethan (Caitlin) McIntyre  and 9 great grandchildren; sisters: Ilene Hummel of Knoxville, IL and Kay McIntyre (Jackie Heinze) of Aurora Colorado; brothers: Dean (Karen) McIntyre of Las Vegas, Nevada, Don (Jan) McIntyre of Monmouth, IL and Duwayne (Bev) McIntyre of Roseville, IL; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters (Ruth Machu, Helen Cooper, Dorothy Young); brothers (Ted and Charles Floyd McIntyre) and one infant son.

David was raised in Roseville, IL.  He was a mechanic for Martin & Clark in Monmouth, IL.  He owned his own business Macs Repair in Roseville, IL. He served on the USS Quapaw 110 as an engineer man third class from 1959 to 1962. He was a semi driver for Warren Transport and Ace Doran Trucking.  He liked the History Channel.  He enjoyed working with his hands doing woodworking.  He was a die-hard Cubs fan and never thought he would see them win a World Series Championship in his lifetime.  He was glad to share that moment with his daughter Angela.  He loved the sport of baseball and would watch any team play. He always said, “Baseball season is way too short”.  He loved his time in the Navy, said he got to see places and have experiences he never dreamed of being from a small town.  He enjoyed being a truck driver the most, he said he felt like a professional tourist.  Being married to Ann and his children were the things he was most proud of in his life and brought him happiness.

Graveside service will be 11:00 am Monday August 6, 2018  in the Roseville Memorial Park Cemetery Roseville, IL.  There will be no visitation friends may call on Sunday from 1:00p.m.  to 6:00 p.m. Military honors will be accorded at the grave.  His family has asked that this be casual attire.   Memorials may be made to the Roseville American Legion and or the Roseville Ambulance. Please sign the online guestbook at www.wisefamilyfuneralhome.com.  Wise Family Funeral Home Roseville, IL is in charge of the arrangements.
