Dorothy Hall

December 29, 1930 — March 21, 2017

It is with great sadness the family announces the sudden passing of Dorothy Hall-Adkisson on Tuesday March 21, 2017 at the age of 86. She was at the Illini Restorative Care center in Silvis, IL.

Born December 29, 1930 in Macomb IL. She attended Western State College and Monmouth College in Macomb in 1952 where she majored in home economics. She also received a Masters degree in gerontology from Western Illinois University in the 90's.

She was kind and loving mother, wife, friend to many. She loved helping others as she tutored students from Blackhawk College after her 30 years of working at the Rock Island Arsenal.

She was re-united with her high school sweetheart in 2007 and they were married March 21, 2009 to Roy Adkisson of Roseville IL

She was a member of PEO local chapter, loved playing bridge, musicals and circa 21. She loved the Y camp in Estes Park Colorado in that for several years post retirement she volunteered at the Y Camp in Colorado and longed to return. She and Roy loved watching sports on TV, and her favorite teams were the Iowa Hawkeyes and the St. Louis Cardinals.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Roy, 3 children, Linda Carson (Knoxville TN) Michael Hall, Fukuoka Japan, William Hall (Rock Island IL) and sister Carol McAllister (Rock Island IL), 2 grandchildren, Ian Hall (New York City, NY) Maya Hall ( San Francisco CA) .
