Edith (Strong) Sikes

Edith Sikes, 80, of Flanagan, IL passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2019, at her home.  She was born Saturday, August 19, 1939 at the Ross Family Farm in rural Roseville, the daughter of Emil and Myrtle (Ross) Strong.

Edith is survived by her children, Donnie (Carolyn) Simmons, Scott (Rochelle Hines) Simmons, Susan Dolan, Tracy (Christina) Sikes, Trina (Alan Wheat) Sikes; 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; siblings, Dennis Strong, Gerald Strong, and Sandra Mackey; and her partner Gene Solot.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother (Danny Strong).

Edith retired as a food service worker for Sodexo at Western Illinois University, Macomb, IL.  She worked for a period of time at NTN Bower in Macomb, and even operated a Fish Store out of her home in Macomb.  She loved to garden and was a ferocious card player.  She also loved her cat.

Graveside service will be Thursday, September 26, 2019, 3:00 p.m. at the Asbury Cemetery, Roseville, IL. Memorials may be made to the McDonough District Hospital Hospice.  Please sign the online guestbook at www.wisefamilyfuneralhome.com.  Wise Family Funeral Home Roseville is in charge of the arrangements.
