Ethyln Vivian Whitcomb

Ethlyn Vivian Whitcomb, 85, of North Henderson, IL passed away Thursday March 3, 2016, 12:10 am at the Rosewood Care Center Galesburg, IL. She was born on Saturday May 24, 1930 the daughter of Guy and Mayme (Sedwick) Meeker. She married Donald L. Whitcomb on January 24, 1953 in Cambridge, IL, he preceded her on November 28, 2010.

Those left to cherish her memory are two sons Gary Whitcomb of North Henderson, IL and Danny Whitcomb Bushnell, IL; one daughter Becky Rogers of Colorado; 4 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren; two brothers Vern (Mary) Meeker of Galesburg, IL and Wendell Meeker of North Henderson, IL, along with nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 daughter-in-law (Shannon), 1 great grandson (Tyson), and one sister (June Brackett).

She was raised and educated in North Henderson and graduated from Alexis High School in 1948. She worked at Fidelity Savings and Loans, Wilkinson Office Supply, and Roger Brother all in Galesburg, IL. She was a member of the North Henderson United Methodist Church.

Graveside service will be Monday March 7, 2016, 11:30 am in Mt. Vernon Cemetery, North Henderson, IL. Visitation will be Monday March 7, 2016, 10:00-11:00 am at the Wise Family-Hoover Hall Funeral Home Alexis, IL. Memorials may be made to Alexis-North Henderson Ambulance Service.
