Johnston, Eula H. Eula H. Johnston, 77, of Alexis, Il, died 11:20 A.M. Friday, January 9, 2015 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg IL. She was born August 21, 1937 at Geneva, Illinois, the daughter of Fred and Thelma (Iles) White. She was raised and educated in Texas and graduated from Grand Prairie High School, Texas. Eula married Albert W. "Goob" Johnston on April 9, 1966 in Durante, Oklahoma and he preceded her in death on January 8, 1993. She retired from Maytag in Galesburg after 40 years and then worked for Burlington Northern Trucking in Galesburg, IL for several years. She enjoyed horse racing and playing bingo. Eula was of Catholic faith. She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Johnston of Burlington, IA and Julie Shull of Rio, IL, three sons, Stanley Johnston of Rolla, MO, Joseph Johnston of North Richland Hills, TX and David Tim Johnston of Avon, IL, 10 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and two sisters, Cheryl (Clark) Meeker-Scott of Monmouth and Linda (Gary) Peyton of Spring Grove, Il along with nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers and one sister. Cremation has been accorded. Memorial services will be planned at a later date.
