Evelyn June (Wilson) Clayton

Evelyn June Clayton, 80, of Avon, IL passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2019, 10:01 a.m. at the Marigold Rehab and Healthcare Center, Galesburg, IL.  She was born Thursday, July 27, 1939, in Greenbush, IL the daughter of Dick and Mildred (Copeland) Wilson.  She married Daryle “Tooty” Clayton in Prairie City, IL, on May 31, 1963, he preceded her in death on February 29, 2004.

Evelyn is survived by one son, Kenneth Clayton, and one daughter, Janice Oelkers; 7 grandchildren, Matthew Clayton, Tosha Clayton, Sierra Taylor, John Clayton, Elizabeth Blankenship, Eilene Stark, and Casey Clayton; 22 great grandchildren; three brothers, Dan (Shannon) Wilson of Avon, Lynn (Lynda) Wilson of Good Hope, and Gene (Rosie) Wilson of Kansas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 daughter (Cheryle Clayton), 2 sisters and 4 brothers.

Evelyn loved her husband and her family.  She enjoyed helping in the garden and growing flowers.  She enjoyed camping and crocheting.  Evelyn loved her dogs.

Graveside service will be Saturday, December 14, 2019, 2:00 p.m. at the Avon Cemetery, Avon, IL.  Visitation will be 12:30-1:30, Saturday, December 14, 2019, at the Wise Family Funeral Home Avon, IL.  Memorials may be made to the Evelyn Clayton Memorial.  Please sign the online guestbook at www.wisefamilyfuneralhome.com.  Wise Family Funeral Home Avon, IL is in charge of the arrangements.
