Florence Irene Stull

Florence Irene Stull , 80, passed away  at 6PM on August 8, 2021 at Roseville Nursing Home, Roseville, Illinois. She was born on December 10, 1940 to Elton and Eva Blunt of Greenbush. Irene married Roy Junior Stull on January 10, 1958, in Greenbush. Later, Irene lived with Delbert Goff in Abingdon, Illinois for roughly 40 years. Irene is survived by her sister, Myra Taft of Avon, Illinois. Her children, Ted D. (Tina) Stull of Avon, Illinois and Tim R. Stull of St. Augustine & Tracy a good friend; 7 grandchildren, Jackie, Tony, Matt, Michael, Michelle, Marshall and Ashley. Irene was also blessed with 16 great-grandchildren. She also was very fond of a four legged friend, Corky.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Eugene, Ernest, Elvira. She attended Greenbush, Lincoln and Avon schools. She worked as a cook at several establishments in Avon, Abingdon and Galesburg. You may remember her friendly face from The Avon Cafe, Avon Illinois. The Friendly Cafe in Abingdon for Laverne Johnson. She also worked at Abbe Lanes for Laverne Johnson and finally, she retired from OSF St. Mary’s Hospital, in Galesburg, Illinois.

Irene was always a hard worker and had a smile that would light up a room. She had an extremely compassionate heart and would help anyone in need. She was a lifelong CUB fan, and loved to cheer for her children and grandchildren at local sporting events. Irene enjoyed gardening, taking care of her flowers, and crocheting and knitting. However, her true passion was cooking and spending time with family and friends. She loved to laugh and spend time with her grandchildren.

A small service will be held at a later date. Wise Funeral Home of Roseville will be in charge of arrangements with cremation in accord. Memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society in Irene’s memory.
