Franklin "Frank" D. Havens

Franklin D. “Frank” Havens, 84, of Prairie City, IL passed away Saturday October 28, 2017 at his home. He was born Saturday August 19, 1933 in McDonough County, IL the son of William and Vada (Postin) Havens. He married Kathryn Hornbaker on December 1, 1952 in Cuba, IL.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Kathryn Havens of Prairie City, IL; children: Barbara (Dennis) Jackson of Bushnell, IL, F. David (Sue) Havens of Prairie City, IL, Brenda (Eric) Josephson of Bushnell, IL, Deborah (Dave) Griffitts of Prairie City, IL, Mark (Wendy) Havens of Greenbush, IL, and Rod (Ava) Havens of Prairie City, IL; 15 grandchildren, and 26 great grandchildren; brothers Bill (Flora) Havens of Canton, IL, Bob (Cathy) Havens of Marietta, IL, and Ron (Linda) Havens of Colchester, IL; sisters Shirley Graham of Cuba, IL, Sara (Jim) Selby of Marietta, IL, Jeanie Thompson of Marietta, IL and Berti Winters of Canastota, NY; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 grandson (Jon Jackson), 4 sisters, and 1 brother.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was a very hard worker. He enjoyed helping people and supporting the community. He enjoyed to hand fish, hunt and travel – in 1998 he and his wife traveled from the West Coast to the East Coast.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life will be held November 18, 2017 1:00-4:00 p.m. at the Prairie City Community Center Prairie City, IL.
