Gaila I. Parsons, 84, of Roseville, IL passed away Friday May 4, 2018, 8:15 a.m. at the Roseville Rehab and Nursing Center Roseville, IL. She was born Wednesday May 24, 1933 in Roseville, IL the daughter of Sidney M. and Esther (Neidy) Smith. She married Raymond A. Parsons on February 26, 1954 in Monmouth, IL and he preceded her in death on July 13, 2003.
She is survived by her son Jeff (Kelli) Parsons of Kewanee, IL; 2 grandchildren Michael Parsons and Kristen Parsons; one brother Vance (Betty) Smith of Roseville, IL and one sister Erma Lewis of Roseville, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 daughter, and 2 sisters (Ima Jean Bycroft and Eloise Lowderman).
Gaila was born and raised in Roseville, IL. She worked for the County Superintendent of Schools for Warren County doing clerical work. She and her husband owned and operated Billtown Cafe in Williamsfield, IL. She was a homemaker while she raised Jeff. She worked for the State of Illinois Public Aid for the last 20 years retiring in 2002. She loved her grandchildren they were her pride and joy. She was very supportive of Jeff’s Games and her grandchildren’s events. She was a member of the Roseville Christian Church.
Funeral service will be Monday May 7, 2018, 11: a.m. at the Wise Family Funeral Home Roseville, IL. Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the East Linwood Cemetery Galesburg, IL.
