G. Rex Dillbeck, 82, of Phoenix, AZ, formerly of Alexis, died January 24, 2012, in Phoenix, AZ.
He was born February 28, 1929 at Alexis, IL, the son of Oren and Martha (Bethel) Dillbeck. He was raised and educated in Alexis.
He worked for Motorola, retiring after more than 30 years. He enjoyed buying and refurbishing fishing gear. He was an avid auto racing enthusiast.
His family includes three children Debbie (Mike) Sartain of Houston, TX, Sue (Joe) Paugh of Tucson, AZ and Dave (Amy) Dillbeck of Franklin, TN, two step-children, Roxann (Bob) Curry of Queen Creek, AZ and Jewelie (Sergio) Campa of Gilbert, AZ, long time companion, Fran Faulkner of Phoenix, 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 7 step grandchildren and 6 step great grandchildren, three brothers, Sewell Dillbeck of Rio, IL, Robert (Pat) Dillbeck of Muscatine, IA and James Dillbeck of Chicago along with nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Al Dillbeck and one sister, Mava Yager.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, January 30, 2012 at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Alexis. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg. Friends may call after 12:00 Noon on Sunday at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel where his family will be present from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M.
