Gerald "Jake" Jebb

Gerald “Jake” Jebb, 68, of Avon, IL passed away Thursday, August 1, 2019, at the OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, IL.  He was born Wednesday, September 13, 1950 in Aledo, IL the son of William Howard and Dorothy Irene (Stoner) Jebb.  He married Donna Smith on April 6, 1973 at the Avon United Methodist Church.

Jake is survived by his wife, Donna of Avon; children, Brian Jebb, Katie Larson, Chris (Sarah Whitaker) Jebb and son-in-law Ron Larson; 3 grandchildren, Jonathan, Seth, and Bailey; one sister Susie Hickerson of Alexis.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and 2 brothers.

Jake worked and retired from the Abingdon Pottery.  He served 46 years on the Avon Fire Dept.  He was a farmhand for Bill Kramer for the last 15 plus years.  Jake was a lifelong Civil War historian.  He was a baseball coach and scout leader.  He loved his ol’ time rock+roll   He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.

Funeral service will be Friday, August 9, 2019, 10:30 a.m. at the Wise Family Funeral Home Avon, IL. Visitation will be Thursday eve, August 8, 2019, from 5-7 p.m. also at the Funeral Home.  Burial will be in the Avon Cemetery Avon, IL.  Memorials may be made to the Avon Fire Dept. and or the Alton Jaeger Guards.  Please sign the online guestbook at www.wisefamilyfuneralhome.com.  Wise Family Funeral Home Avon, IL is in charge of the arrangements.
