Harold D. Hasting, 79, of Monmouth, died 6:00 P.M. Saturday, October 27, 2012 at his home.

He was born April 3, 1933 in Alexis, Illinois the son of Harold H. and Alice L. (Sharp) Hasting. He was raised and educated in Alexis.

Harold married Mary L. Shawler in Monmouth, IL on December 16, 1950, and she survives.

He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1954.

He worked at Western Stoneware, and later at Admirals in Galesburg for 38 years. He enjoyed, camping, fishing, traveling, and woodworking in which he handcrafted many beautiful furniture pieces.

He was a charter member of the Monmouth Eagles Club.

His family includes his wife Mary; one son, Perry (Kim) Hasting of Monmouth IL; one daughter, Karen (John) Villegas of De Pue IL; one sister, Betty (Bill) Lee of Monmouth IL; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded by his parents; three daughters, Mary Jane Shafer, June A. Lenover, and Ellen M. Cole; four brothers, Leonard E., Jack, Bill, and Ronnie.

Funeral services Thursday, November 1, 2012 at 1:30 P.M. at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth, with the Rev. Dr. William Myers of the Faith United Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery, Monmouth. Friends may call Thursday at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth where his family will be present one hour before the service.
