Harold L. Yeakey, 96, of Roseville, Illinois, passed away at 1:20 p.m., Monday, March 10, 2025, at his home. He was born May 23, 1928, in Raritan, Illinois, the son of Henry and Zelma Yeakey. He was raised and educated in Raritan and Adams County.
Harold married Margaret Turley on June 20, 1948, and she preceded him in death on June 6, 2015.
Those left to cherish his memory are; one son, Ronald (Diane) Yeakey of Bloomingdale, IL; one daughter, Connie Hood Of Roseville, IL; his committed partner, Carol Perrine and her family; 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-granddaughters; one sister, Eileen McDowell; brother-in-law, Charles Edward Turley of Hamilton, Montana.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 siblings.
Harold drove a semi and worked for Dale Sands and later Twomey company until his retirement. He was an active member of the Masons for 65 years. He will be remembered for taking pride in his lawn, with the help of his trusty John Deere mower. He had a great work ethic, and every job was done to the best of his ability. He made many long-haul semi trips out west with his friend Don Kirby who he loved like a brother.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, March 22, 2025, at the Roseville Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Roseville United Methodist Church and left in the care of the funeral home. Moore Memorial Home, Roseville, is handling the arrangements.
