Helen French Earp, 88, of Galesburg formerly of Monmouth, died at 7:16 A.M. Wednesday January 30, 2013 at OSF St. Francis Hospital, Peoria.
She was born December 12, 1924 in Monmouth, Illinois, the daughter of Martin L. and Helen Sarah (French) Claycomb. She was raised and educated in Monmouth, graduating from Monmouth High School in 1942. She then attended Brown's Business College in Galesburg for 2 years.
Helen married Robert Earp in Monmouth on November 2, 1946.
She worked for a time at a local finance company.
Helen's main interests were her family and the ministry of Jehovah's Witnesses. She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening, and camping.
She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Galesburg.
Helen's family included her husband, Robert; one daughter, Nancy (Kenneth) Hanson of Wallkill, NY; three sons, John (Marcia) Earp of Wallkill, NY, Ron (Karen) Earp of Knoxville, IL, Jeff (Ramona) Earp of Marquette Heights, IL; six grandchildren, Ryan, Justin, Devin, Kelly, Austin, and Alana; two sisters, Martha (Robert) Miller of Scottsdale, AZ and Lynn (Herb) Carman of Salton City, CA; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial service will be 2 P.M. Saturday, February 2, 2013 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Galesburg with Jules Purvis presiding. Visitation with family will be prior to and following the memorial service. Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth is assisting the family with arrangements.
