Kathryn Ann Bowers

Kathryn Ann Bowers, 58, of Monmouth, IL entered the pearly gates peacefully on Thursday May 19, 2016, after a short battle of bone cancer. Kathryn was born Tuesday March 4, 1958 in Lincoln, Maine the daughter of La Von (Underwood) and Albert Henry Harper. She was oldest of nine children. She went on to marry Lawrence Bowers on August 11, 1979, in Stillwater, OK.

Kathy is survived by her parents La Von and Gerald Underwood of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Albert Harper of Millinocket, Maine; spouse Larry Bowers; children Christina Bowers, Robert Bowers, and Chloe Bowers at home; siblings Henry (Barb) of Ft. Madison, IA, Diane (Terry) Otten of Kirksville, MO, Robert (Susan) Harper of Cedar Rapids, IA, Debbie (Larry) Scott of Parkersburg, IA, Daniel (Crystal) Harper of Millinocket, Maine, Michael Harper of Ft. Madison, IA, and Ester (Dale) Lewis of Cedar Rapids, IA, Tony McIntosh of Dexter, ME . She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents. (Earl and CeCelia Louise Harper)

Kathy had a heart of gold. She was a loving, caring individual with a passion to serve, and was a foster parent. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and spending time with family. Her life revolved around her children and husband. Kathy was a jack of all trades and master of none. She loved to cook, sew and she did china painting. She enjoyed shopping and going to yard sales.

Memorial service will be Thursday May 26, 2016, 1:00 p.m. at the Monmouth Christian Church Monmouth, IL. Memorial may be made in her memory. Cremation rites have been accorded.
