Kenneth R Anders

Kenneth R. Anders, 71, of Abingdon, IL passed away Friday May 24, 2019, at Heartland Healthcare Center Galesburg, IL.  He was born October 3, 1947 in Alton, IL the son of Wilber Loren and Ruth Marie (Farmer) Anders.

Kenneth is survived by his longtime partner of 24 years Peggy Leadbetter; one daughter Carrie Gibbons; one son Todd Anders; 4 grandchildren, Marcus, Cohen, Emily, and Elisbeth; 1 great grandson Nash; sisters, Linda (Larry) Jackson of Missouri, Lee Ann Robinson and Patty (Carl) Sloan of Avon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister (Judy Shaw) and 1 brother (Ronald Anders).

He retired from Maytag after 31 years.  He was a member of the Abingdon American Legion.  Kenneth served in the US Army during Vietnam.  He enjoyed to bowl and golf.  He was an avid Cardinal fan.  His grandchildren were very special to him.

Graveside service will be Saturday, June 1, 2019, 1:00 p.m. at the Avon Cemetery, Avon, IL.  Military Honors at the Grave.
