Kenneth G. Hartz

Kenneth G. Hartz, 95 of Alexis, IL passed away Saturday, January 9, 2021, 4:26 a.m. at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, IL.  He was born Tuesday, January 20, 1925, in Sharpsburg, PA., the son of Melvin and Edith (Lichleiter) Hartz.  He married Doris M. Cash on March 12, 1946, in Alexis, IL.

Those left to cherish his memory are, sons, Freddy Joseph (Norma) Hartz, and Randy Lee (Tina) Hartz; one daughter, Julie Mae (Jay) Kirby; 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren;

He is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Kenneth Steven Hartz; his grandson, Steven; his siblings, Jeanne Hartz; Joseph Hartz; Donald Hartz.

Kenneth was an Illinois State Police Officer.  He served in the U.S. Navy as an Aviation Cadet from 2/17/1943 – 6/30/1947 during WWII.  He was a member of the Alexis United Presbyterian Church.  Kenneth loved his country, family and friends.  He was known in Alexis as the person who could fix anything, but his specialty was working on clocks.

Due to COVID-19 requirements and restrictions a private family service will be held. Burial will be in Alexis Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Kenneth Hartz Memorial.
