Lyndia Yvonne Knapp, 76, of Raritan, IL passed away Sunday, June 30, 2019, at her home. She was born Tuesday, April 13, 1943 in Greenfield, SC the daughter of Forrest Lynn and Avis Mae (Warren) Westbrook.
Yvonne is survived by her sons, Richard (Jennifer Kuehn) Knapp of Avon, Michael (Stacy) Knapp of Raritan; grandchildren, Mackenzie Wagner-Allen of Moline, Colton Knapp of Burlington, IA, Brooklyn (Slater) Scheurich of Ft. Hood, TX, Jaxson Knapp, and Sloan Knapp; 1 great grandson Lincoln; siblings, Forrest Lynn (Cora) Westbrook Jr. of Edmond, OK, Robert Lamont Westbrook of Norman, OK, William Loren Westbrook of Carney, OK, and C.K. Westbrook.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Yvonne had a bachelor’s degree from OSU and her master’s degree at SIU. She taught at Syracuse, Union and Spoon river College. She worked Economic Development in Henderson, Warren, and Schuyler counties in IL and Lee County in Iowa. She was a part of the Highway 34 Coalition. She worked most recently at Eagle View Community Health Systems. She was a member of the Raritan Village Board, 4-H, and the Two Rivers Art Council. Yvonne was also part of the Western IL Regional Council and Stronghurst Boosters.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, July 7, 2019, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the Wise Family Funeral Home Roseville, IL. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Family Outreach Community Center and or the Two River Art Council. Please sign the online guestbook at www.wisefamilyfuneralhome.com.
