Larry Lee Walters

Larry Lee Walters, 82, of Bushnell, Illinois, passed away at 5:24 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2025 in his home. He was born April 14, 1942 in McDonough County, Macomb, Illinois the son of Clarence Otis and Althea Lillian (Ford) Walters. He was raised in Marietta and educated in Smithfield & Cuba, Illinois.

He married Elizabeth Jane Ashby in Cuba on June 9, 1962 and she survives.

Those left to cherish his memory are; his wife, Jane; children, Deb (Eric) Hughes of Bushnell, Nick (Amy) Walters of Hamilton, Illinois, Anthony Walters of Bushnell; grandchildren, Jimmy (Paulina) Redding and Joshua (Caroline) Redding, Madison (Bryce) Wilson; great-grandchildren, Alina and Jimmy Redding, Jr. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jerry Walters and sister, Frances Allen.

Larry was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. He liked to play cards and practical jokes. He was a member of the Bushnell First Baptist Church for many years. He worked for Butler Manufacturing for over 30 years.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 17, 2025, at the Bushnell First Baptist Church. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the services. Memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family and left in the care of the funeral home. Moore Memorial Home, Avon, is handling the arrangements.
