Marcia Jean Simonson

Marcia Jean Simonson, 87, of Roseville, passed away February 24, 2018, after a brief illness.  She was born in Monmouth, IL to Nealy J. and Marie (Larson) Young.  Marcia married John Robert Simonson in 1953, who preceded her in death in 1999.

She is survived by her sister JoAnn Rausch of Tucson, AZ, and sons John Michael (Karen) of Knoxville, TN; Robert Joseph (Kathy) of Albuquerque, NM; William Jay of Avon; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Betty Grace Charvat.

Marcia graduated from Roseville High School and Western Illinois University.    She taught elementary school in Mississippi and for many years in Henderson County. She was a member of the Roseville United Methodist Church, American Legion Auxiliary, PEO, and the Henderson County Retired Teachers Association.

Funeral Service will be Tuesday, February 27, 2018, at 2:00 P.M. at the Wise Family Funeral Home in Roseville, IL.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Tuesday where family will receive friends.  Burial will be in Roseville Memorial Park Cemetery.   Memorials may be left to the Roseville American Legion or the Roseville United Methodist Church.  Please sign the online guestbook at www.wisefamilyfuneralhome.com.  Wise Family Funeral Home, Roseville is in charge of the arrangements.
