Margaret R. Ray, 89 of Monmouth, IL passed away Thursday October 15, 2015, 9:20 am at the Monmouth Nursing Home, Monmouth, IL. She was born Thursday November 19, 1925 in Monmouth, IL the daughter of Roy and Rose (Gavin) Thompson. She married Earl Ray he preceded her.
She is survived by three daughters Sharon (John) Way of Newman, IL, Barb (Ron) Byers of Berwick, IL and Carol (Corky) Shaw of Roseville, IL; grandchildren Brenda (Kurt) Logan, Nicole (Dwayne) Allgood, Victoria Way, Dan (Melissa) Byers, Amanda (Joel) Newman, Jen (Jeff) Podhajsky, Chrissy (Jeremy) Russell, Tanya (Jason) Blakeman, Jessica Shaw, Joshua (Jen) Shaw and Jillian (Cedric) Smith; 29 great grandchildren; three sisters Martha Driscoll of Monmouth, IL, Florence (Francis) Kane of Roseville, IL and Grace Dollinger of Metamora, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 son (George), 1 infant daughter, 4 brothers (Lawrence, William, Robert and Harold Thompson) and 1 sister (Helen Hanna).
She was born and raised in the Monmouth area. She was a wife, mother and grandmother. After her husband passed away she maintained the family farm. She was a member of the Home Extension and a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Monmouth, IL. She loved Spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral Mass will be Monday October 19, 2015, 10:00 am at the Immaculate Conception Church, Monmouth, IL. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery Monmouth, IL. There will be a visitation on Sunday October 18, 2015 from 2:30-4:30 pm with a Rosary at 2:00 pm at the Wise Family ~ Hoover Hall Funeral Home Monmouth, IL.
