Marian E. Simpson, 93, formerly of Alexis, IL passed away Saturday May 6, 2017. She was born Thursday July 5, 1923, in Mercer County, IL the daughter of Fred M. and Eva M. (Fry) Cash. She married Robert H. Simpson in Kahoka, MO on April 18, 1942, he preceded her on November 30, 1987.

Those left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Trudy (Terrence) Skinner of Lawrenceville, GA and Kara Lynn (Terry) Nelson of Twin Falls, Idaho; 5 grandchildren: Kevin Kyle Skinner, Robert J. Skinner, Dawn C. Hendricks, Mark Nelson and Megan McNeil; 8 great-grandchildren; one sister Doris (Ken) Hartz of Alexis, IL; one sister-in-law Marjorie Cavanaugh of Monmouth, IL; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 sister (June Patterson), and 1 brother (Kenneth Cash).

Marian was reared and educated in Alexis, IL, graduating from Alexis High School in 1942. She was a homemaker and enjoyed oil painting, knitting, crocheting, and quilting. She made 55 quilts. She also loved doing outside work.

Funeral service will be Thursday May 11, 2017, 2:00 p.m. at the Wise Family Funeral Home, Alexis, IL. Burial will be in the Alexis Cemetery, Alexis, IL. Visitation will be Thursday may 11, 2017, 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the Wise Family-Hoover Hall Funeral Home Alexis, IL. Please sign the online guestbook at www.wisefamily-hooverhall.com.
