Marie Hayburn

Marie Hayburn, 76, of Kirkwood, died 7:25 P.M. Saturday, August 11, 2012 at Cottage Hospital, Galesburg.

She was born October 31, 1935 at home in Langley, Arkansas, the daughter of Sherman and Eetter (York) McGough. She was raised and educated in Langley, Arkansas.

Marie married Lester Eugene Hayburn in Glenwood, Arkansas on September 6, 1953 and he preceded her in death on July 15, 1990.

She stayed at home with her eight children, while they were young, and then went to work at Glasstex in Monmouth from 1976-1978, then the Monmouth Pottery from 1978-1980, and then Admirals in Galesburg in 1980, until retiring in 2003. She enjoyed sewing and gardening in her beautiful flower garden.

She was a member of V.F.W. Auxiliary Post 2257 of Galesburg.

Her family includes 4 daughters, Catherine (David) James and Debbra (Gary) Abbott both of Galesburg, Brenda Stamper of Kirkwood and Kathleen (Jeff) Schacht of Galesburg, 4 sons, Larry Hayburn, Rodney Hayburn, David Hayburn of Kirkwood and Kevin Hayburn of Little Rock, Arkansas, 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 7 step great grandchildren 2 brothers, Harvey McGough and Kenneth (Sue) McGough both of Langley, Arkansas along with nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister and one great grandson, Owen Nicholas Hayburn..

Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Thursday, August 16, 2012 at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth. Burial will be in Center Grove Cemetery, Kirkwood. Friends may call on Wednesday at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth, where her family will be present from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M.
