Mary E. Harvey, 91, formerly of Muscatine and Davenport, Iowa, died 6:45 A.M. Monday, April 16, 2012 at the Monmouth Nursing Home, Monmouth, IL.
She was born Dec. 11, 1920 in Panora, Iowa the daughter of Bryan and Arta (Bales) Godown. She was graduated from Linden High School; attended Drake University and graduated from the American Institute of Business.
Mary married George Harvey on April 14, 1956 in Oquawka, IL and he died June 16, 2001.
Mary was the Executive Director of the United Way of Muscatine, Iowa, retiring in 1987, when she and George moved to Bella Vista, AR. She was a realtor in Bella Vista until 2007, when she decided to again retire and move back to the area to be closer to her family. She enjoyed golf and traveling with her husband.
She was a member of the Aledo Chapter Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include her sister in law, Mary Anderson of Keithsburg; 5 nieces, 3 nephews and numerous great and great great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 sisters, Rhonda and Phyllis.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, April 20, 2012 at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth. Burial will be in Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery, Monmouth. Friends may call Friday at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth where her family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until the time of services.
