Mary Florence Kane

Mary Florence Kane, 88 of Roseville, IL passed away Monday May 23, 2016, 2:20 a.m. at the McDonough District Hospital Macomb, IL. She was born Sunday September 11, 1927 in Monmouth, IL the daughter of Roy and Rose (Gavin) Thompson. She married Francis Bernard Kane on February 23, 1957.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Francis of Roseville, IL; children: Edmond Francis (Kelly) Kane of Media, IL, Mary Rose (Stan) Day of Macomb, IL, William Joseph (Linda) Kane of Roseville, IL, and Connie Jean (Rick) Elting of Macomb, IL; grandchildren: Lindsey (Grant) Curtis, Kourtney (Ryan) McClure, Matt Kane, Luke Kane, Ryan Day, Brittany Day, Ashton Day, Jackson Kane, Drew Kane, Reese Kane, Mitchell (Lesli) Elting, Hannah Elting, Nathan Elting, Nick Elting; great grandchildren: Kane Curtis, Levi McClure, Macy McClure; two sisters Martha Driscoll of Monmouth, IL and Grace Dollinger of Metamora, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 grandson (Nolan Kane), 2 sisters (Helen Hanna, Margaret Ray), 4 brothers (Bill, Lawrence, Harold, and Bob Thompson).

She was a loving wife and role model for her children. She enjoyed her family very much and enjoyed going to their sporting events and being supportive of them. She attended Farmers Academy Grade School and Monmouth High School. She was a member of the National Honor Society, St Patrick's Catholic Church in Raritan, IL, along with the St. Patrick's Alter and Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Colfax Club and Warren County Rural Youth. She and her husband farmed in rural Roseville. She had a wonderful heart and gave of herself to visit and help others. She was well known to her family and friends as Nan.

Funeral mass will be Friday May 27, 2016, 10:30 a.m. at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church Raritan, IL with Monsignor Mack officiating. Visitation will be Thursday evening May 26, 2016 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. with Rosary at 4:30 p.m. at the Wise Family ~ Hoover hall Funeral Home Monmouth, IL. Burial will be in the St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery Raritan, IL. Memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and or the St' Patrick's Catholic Church Raritan, IL.
