Mary Ellen (Shughart) Adkisson

Mary Ellen Adkisson, 76, of Roseville, IL passed away Monday, September 28, 2020, 2:20 a.m. at the Roseville Rehab and Nursing Home.  She was born Friday, January 28, 1944 in Monmouth, IL the daughter of Wyatt Pete and Anna Mae (Ryner) Shughart.  She married John Adkisson September 30, 1962.

She is survived by her husband John of 57 years; son, Sam Adkisson (Bobbi Garvie); grandsons, Joe, Jon and James; sisters, Janey (Richard) Simpson of Alexis and Celia (Jim) Linze of Melbourne, ARK.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers and 1 sister.

In 1976 Ellen and her husband owned and operated John A’s Phillips 66 in Roseville.  She worked at the La Moine Christian Nursing Home in Roseville.  Ellen was a dedicated volunteer in the Roseville area Ambulance service for over 40 years, also serving as president.  She enjoyed coffee time at the shop.  She loved time with her grandsons especially going fishing.
