Merlin L. Peterson

Merlin L. Peterson, 80, of Roseville, IL passed away Friday, January 11, 2019, 6:56 a.m. at the Great River Medical Center Burlington, IA.  He was born Sunday, July 24, 1938, in Roseville, IL, the son of Glen and Maber (Hillyer) Peterson.  He married Catherine DeDecker on August 6, 1975 in Phoenix, AZ.

Merlin is survived by his wife Catherine of Swan Creek, IL; Children Ariana Shea, John Peterson, Michael Shea, David Peterson, and Brian Peterson; 9 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren; siblings Keith Peterson, and Shirley Stolp.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son (Michael) and 2 brothers (Gary and Frank).

Merlin was an avid horseman. He was a police officer in Bushnell, IL and did security work in Phoenix, AZ.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, January 15, 2019, 11:00 a.m. at the Wise Family Funeral Home Roseville, IL.
