Mildre E. Hale, 95 of Monmouth, died 6:53 P.M. Monday, May 27, 2013, at OSF Holy Family Medical Center, Monmouth.

She was born June 1, 1917 at Biggsville, IL, the daughter of Carl and Elizabeth (Knutstrom) Swedlund. She was raised and educated in the Biggsville. She attended Coloma Grade School and graduated from Biggsville High School. She graduated from Western Illinois University with a B.S. degree.

Mildred married Robert Hale in Stronghurst, Illinois, on May 24, 1941 and he preceded her in death on October 17, 1966.

Mildred farmed with her husband in the Bald Bluff area. She taught school at Coloma, Biggsville and Bald Bluff Schools and retired from Yorkwood School in 1981. She loved to travel, crochet and mostly to be with her family.

She was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Monmouth, where she was a member of the Ladies Society, Sunday School Teacher, and served with the Bell Choir. She was also a member of the Warren County Retired Teachers.

Her family includes two daughters, Carol (Bill) Clark of Oquawka and Trudy (Phil) Bergren of Monmouth, grandchildren, Amy (John) Wolf of Biggsville and Eric (Kristee Carlton) Bergren of Monmouth, great -granddaughter, Kristin Wolf and great grandson, Sam Wolf both of Biggsville and one sister, Ruby Johnson of Monmouth.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, May 30, 2013 at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth with Rev. Mike Clark of Grace Lutheran Church of Knoxville. Burial will be in Warren County Memorial Park. Friends may call on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, where visitation with her family will be one hour prior to the service. Memorial may be left for the First Lutheran Church of Monmouth. Oline condolences may be left at www.hooverhall.com
