M. June (Kinsey) Beard

Margaret June (Kinsey) Beard, 92, of Roseville gained her heavenly reward on Monday, September 11, 2017 at the Richard L. Owens Hospice Home, Peoria, Illinois.
June was born on June 20, 1925, in Rushville, Illinois, the daughter of Johnie Franklin and Verena Margaret (Dodds) Kinsey. She married J. Harold Beard on June 6, 1948 in Roseville, Illinois.
She is survived by Daughters: Judy (Harold) Horn of Normal, IL and Deanna (John) Walker of Dade City, FL; Grandchildren: Nathan (Tara) Horn of Normal, IL; David (Jennifer) Horn of Queen Creek, AZ; Hope (Brett) Karabensh of Cedar Park, TX; Charity (Todd) Byers of Trinity, FL; Great-Grandchildren: Noah, Olivia, Riley and Karaden Horn and Caden and Trevor Karabensh; Sister-in-law Betty Gayman of Schertz, TX; Brother Bill Kinsey of Arenzville, IL; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one brother (Loren Kinsey), and three sisters (Audrey Vincent, Mary Moore, and Alice Young).
June graduated from Rushville High School and attended Western Illinois Teachers’ College. She taught in one-room rural Warren County schools (1944-1948) and later was a substitute teacher in the Roseville area schools for 18 years. She served as Housekeeping Supervisor at LaMoine Christian Nursing Home in Roseville for 22 years, retiring in 1990. Then she began working part time with developmentally disabled individuals in nursing homes until 2009, at age 84½.
Throughout her married life, she assisted in many ways on the farm. She enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, cooking and baking pies, sewing, quilting, and knitting, researching family genealogy, traveling, and entertaining her family, friends, and visiting Christian missionaries in their home. Until she was almost 90, she cared for Harold faithfully in their home when his physical abilities waned.
June was an active member of Roseville Christian Church, Mutual Benefit Club, and Warren County Historical Society. Seeing her family members accept Jesus as Savior and serve Him with their lives was her main goal in life.
Funeral service will be Friday, September 15, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service, at Roseville Christian Church, Roseville, Illinois. Interment will follow in Roseville Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials can be made to Roseville Christian Church, Blessing Ranch Ministries, or Lincoln Christian University.
