Pauline L. Brown, 79, of Galesburg, formally of North Henderson, died 10:14 A.M. Thursday, November 22, 2012 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg.
She was born April 2, 1933 in Alexis, Illinois the daughter of Robert and Irene (Gelhart) Swanson. She was raised and educated in Alexis School and graduated from Alexis High School.
Pauline married Eugene Brown in Little York on June 27, 1951 and he preceded her in death on February 25, 2009.
She was along time member of the North Henderson United Methodist Church, North Henderson Floral Club and the Good Sum Club.
She was a devoted wife and homemaker. She enjoyed her family, traveling, sewing, baking, and reading. She also enjoyed motorcycling and camping trips with her family and spending time with friends.
Her family includes six children, James (Margaret) Brown of Russell Springs, KY, Joy (Steve) McKelvie of Galesburg, Jeffrey (Penny) Brown of Gilson, IL, Judith (Tim) Bressler of Fremont, IN, Jolene (Rick) Pitman of Alexis and Jason Brown of Galesburg, 16 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren, two sisters, Bertha Dublo of Alexis and Barbara Rogers of Lewistown, and Brother-in-law, Verlyn (Sharon) Brown in Texas, along with nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 great grandchildren 2 sisters and 1 brother.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M Monday, November 26, 2012 at North Henderson United Methodist Church with Rev. Suzanne Geer. Cremation will follow and burial of ashes will be in Alexis Cemetery. Friends may call after 2:00 P.M. on Sunday at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Alexis where her family will be present from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Memorials may be given to the North Henderson United Methodist Church or Covers of Love, a memorial for great granddaughter Lila who preceded Pauline in death.
