Phyllis K. McIntyre, 92, of Monmouth, IL passed away Tuesday May 31, 2016, at Courtyard Estates, Monmouth, IL. She was born August 28, 1921 in Little York, IL the daughter of Ray and Maude (Kishline) Stromire. She married John McIntyre on October 18, 1941, he preceded her on August 25, 1981.

Those left to cherish her memory are two daughters Judy (Kenny) Boyer of Monmouth, IL, and Nancy (Bill) Clayton of Monmouth, IL; 4 grandchildren Scott (Janice) Boyer of Monmouth, IL, Brenda (Jamey) Cornell of Alexis, IL, Todd (Becki) Clayton of Galesburg, and Chad (Jenna Stanton) Clayton of Galesburg, IL; 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 1 sister.

She and her husband owned and operated McIntyre Shade Shop. She and her husband farmed around Youngstown, IL She drove a school bus for Cavanagh Bus Service for 25 plus years. She was a member of Republican Woman, and volunteered for the Hospital Auxiliary. She was a member of the Monmouth Methodist Church where she was very active. She and her husband belonged to square dance clubs and enjoyed camping. She loved and enjoyed her family and especially her grandchildren.

Graveside service will be Monday June 6, 2016, 2:00 p.m. at the Monmouth Cemetery Monmouth, IL. Burial will be in the Monmouth Cemetery Monmouth, IL. Visitation will be Sunday June 5, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Wise Family ~ Hoover Hall Funeral Home Monmouth, IL. Memorials may be made to the Monmouth Methodist Church and or Courtyard Estates.
