Rand Gillett

Rand S. Gillett of Charleston IL formally from Avon Illinois passed away Sunday June 5th. Rand was born September 17, 1952 in Rapid City South Dakota. The son of George and Marie Gillett he graduated from Avon High School in 1971. (Thanks to mom!) Rand held various jobs including working at Butler Manufacturing in Galesburg. He lived in Charleston for the past 25 years and enjoyed life.  Although he loved his family and close friends he very much stayed to himself with his cat very appropriately named Useless! He had a dry sense of humor and was known for his practical jokes when growing up. He had a love for new cars and outdoor life including fishing; hunting and exploring. He is survived by his brother Dave and his wife Rebecca and numerous nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his folks and two brothers Dan and Bob.

Cremation rights have been accorded. A private service with Reverend Jon Prain will be held at Holman/Olive cemetery in rural Avon. Wise Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
