Reta E. Lawson, 95 of St. Augustine, Illinois passed away Saturday January 10, 2015 at the Abingdon Care Center in Abingdon, Illinois. Reta was born on October 13, 1919 in Brown County Illinois to Owen and Myra (Waters) Hunter. She married Jerome T. Lawson on October 23, 1943 in Galesburg, Ill. She was preceded in death by her husband and a son Jerry. Surviving are her sons David (Mary) Lawson of Avon Illinois, Mark (Renee) Lawson of Ladue Missouri, and Phil (Val) Lawson of Avon Illinois. Also surviving are her six grandchildren David Lawson, Michael Lawson, Kathryn Lawson, Tim Lawson, Tom Lawson and Dan Hayes. Reta spent her life as a farmer's wife. She loved farm life, quilting, sewing, gardening, mushrooming and time with her friends and family. Funeral services will be held at the Federated Church, 206 S Main Street, Avon, Illinois on Thursday January 15, 2015 at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in the Avon Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 14, 2015, 5:00 -7:00 PM at the Federated Church. Memorials may be made to the Reta Lawson Memorial Fund. Online condolences may me made to www.hooverhall.com.
