Roger Brown

Roger Brown, 64, of Monmouth, IL, died on Sunday, March 19, 2017.


He was born in Tomah, WI, on January 20, 1953, the youngest child of Ernest and Eudoris (Weiss) Brown. Roger is survived by his daughter, Tina (Scott) Dulac of Dover, NH, and two grandchildren, Maia and Grayson; his brother, Gerald (Patsy) Brown of Rio, IL, and three sisters, Lillian Richardson and Farrel (Jim) McKinzie, both of North Henderson, IL, and Marvelyn Bucher of Galesburg, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents of North Henderson, IL, and by his sister Vickie Stevens of Galesburg, IL. He will be missed by his long-time companion, Margaret McBride, and her children and grandchildren. Many nieces, nephews, and cousins also mourn his passing. He was married for many years to Janet (Bucher) Brown, and was like a father and grandfather to her daughter Michelle Moreland and her children.


Roger worked for many years caring for residents of St. Mary's Square before retiring. He loved to fish, play Yahtzee, and spend time with his family. He was always ready to share a smile and a laugh.


Cremation has been accorded, and he will be laid to rest with his mother, father, sister and nephew. Graveside services are scheduled for 11:00 AM on Friday, March 31, at Alexis Cemetery in Alexis, IL. A lunch honoring his life will follow at the Church of God of Prophecy in Abingdon, IL.
